Riot Games are now giving players a chance to cast their vote on which League of Legends champion will be reworked next. In particular, Riot Games singled out Dr Mundo, Fiddlesticks, Nocturne, Shyvana, and Volibear.

They referred to the aforementioned champions as “high-priority” champions that they plan on overhauling in the near future. Now, they’re giving players a chance to vote for which one they want to be the first to be reworked.

Lead champion producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles further explained what they are going to do to the chosen champion in the announcement, saying:

A visual & gameplay update is where we redesign a champion from the ground up, including their gameplay, visuals, story, animations, voice acting… the works. It’s an opportunity for us to bring older champions up to modern standards while amplifying what players already love about them.”

The champions that Riot Games singled out do indeed look like they’re in dire need of some tender, loving care. But, personally, the one that seems to need the attention the most is Violibear. At this point, he’s pretty much a novelty champion. On the other hand, Dr. Mundo remains remains pretty viable, and is probably only in need of a remodel. Meanwhile, Shyvana is pretty strong in her current form, with Fiddlesticks and Nocturne having held up pretty well over the years.

To vote, all you need to do is to go to the announcement page. You may want to hurry up though. Polls will close on May 15 at 23:59 PT. This leaves players only7 a week to try and vote for which champion they want to see reworked next.

This is a surprising move for Riot Games. Although this isn’t the first time they asked the community for help regarding skins, this is the first time that they’re encouraging players to vote on something that could potentially change how League of Legends is played at the highest level.

Unfortunately, even though voting ends soon, Riot Games promised that the winning champion’s new look won’t be available until around 2020. But, if it’s any consolation, we are going to see reworks to Mordekaiser and Pantheon in the near future. A new champion named Yuumi is also set to arrive real soon, with a still-unannounced champion scheduled for release some time after the introduction of the jungle-themed AD assassin.
