PUBG Mobile, the mobile version of the popular Battle Royal title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is set to receive its own tie-in event with “The Walking Dead”.
This crossover event was first teased on September 30. However, the developers did not really reveal a lot of details regarding the event. But now, players can finally access all of the content related to the tie-in event.
As part of the event, players can choose skins and play as various characters from the popular zombie series, The Walking Dead. This includes Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Negan, and Michonne. The crossover event also adds some weapons and items from The Walking Dead into PUBG Mobile. You can now find Daryl’s motorcycle, Michonne’s katana, and even Negan’s baseball bat in the game going forward.
There are two ways that you can earn these items and skins. Either you buy them outright, or you complete in-game challenges.
The tie-in event arrives just in time for the premiere of the Season 10 of The Walking Dead on October 6.
PUBG Mobile has had a lot of success with its tie-in and crossover events in the past. Other examples of franchises that PUBG Mobile has had a tie-in event in include Godzilla: King of Monsters and Resident Evil 2.
These crossover and tie-in events are taken directly from their main competitor, Fortnite, who has had a lot of success with such events.
From the Avengers to Batman, as well as IT, Stranger Things, among others, Fortnite has managed to seamlessly incorporate popular culture in-game, which is probably why PUBG Mobile is trying to do the same thing.
