Just when you thought that Fortnite could not surprise you, Epic Games decided to hold an in-game concert featuring famous international DJ, Christopher ‘Marshmello' Comstock, and saw nearly 11 million players show up to attend.

With 10.7 million players watching the virtual concert, Fortnite just saw its highest concurrent player count ever just by nearly 2.5 million. The previous record was 8.3 million, which was set back in November.

Majority of Fortnite’s player count records have been mostly because of the game being released in other platforms, such as being available to play on iOS and Android devices, as well as the Nintendo Switch, or because of a new season. However, as the Marshmello concert proves, Epic Games’ willingness to experiment and defy convention has allowed the game to continue feeling fresh for its millions of players around the globe.

Fortnite’s success has not been without its fair share of detractors. Case in point, Epic Games are currently involved in numerous lawsuits because of the dance moves that are available in Fortnite as an in-game purchase.
