Oceanic-based aspiring PUBG
pros can now finally rejoice after ESL just recently announced the addition of the hit Battle Royale title for their AU&NZ National Championship league for the year of 2019. ESL is one of the premiere tournament organizers in the world and has had their hands in esports for the better part of the past two decades. To date, they organize and handle numerous regional leagues in various parts of the world, but has only recently extended their reach to the Asia-Pacific. The Oceania regional league for PUBG
will be part of the 2019 PUBG Esports Season, where the best teams will qualify for other global PUBG
events. Local talents will also receive a hefty prize pool of $15,000 AUD (£8,200) for their efforts. The announcement comes not longer after the game’s developers, PUBG Corp, announced a more structured competitive season for PUBG
this 2019. The Oceanic tournament by ESL is set to kick things off with its open qualifiers relatively soon, which is only natural as the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic in April draws near. The first PUBG Classic event will take place from April 16 to April 21 and will be held at the eXceL London. With just a few weeks left to the start of the event, PUBG Corp are in a desperate rush to try and get the qualifiers in place so that teams can start qualifying for what will become their first big LAN event of the year.
