map designer Shawn “FMPONE” Snelling recently released a photo via Twitter showing off just how he’s almost completed remaking Cache.
The photo comes nearly a year after FMPONE first tweeted out a portion of his remake of Cache
last year, on June of 2018. Judging by his most recent update, it seems that only a few areas are left. This includes the spawn area for the Terrorist side, as well as a couple of key areas around the A main and the B halls. While the Cache
rework is definitely good news for fans of the map, it’s a bit of a consolation prize if nothing else. This is because Cache
was recently removed from the competitive map pool by Valve, and was replaced with Vertigo
. This means that, even if Cache
was completed and released, fans likely won’t be able to see it included in the competitive map rotation anytime soon.
