We knew that as soon as we saw that volcano pop up in the middle of the map of Fortnite: Battle Royale that it’s going to explode eventually. However, that doesn’t mean we’re not excited to see it finally happening. Currently, we’re only a few moments away from seeing that dreaded volcano erupt. Players from multiple servers all across the world are hard at work and are trying their best to make sure that the volcano goes kablooey. Also, apparently, we’re going to see aliens get involved. How exactly that will happen is something that we don’t really know. But, again, the only thing that we’re sure of is that the volcano is going to go boom. How sure can we be despite the lack of word from Epic? 100%. This is because Epic Games usually schedules their events on Saturdays. Why? We don’t really know for sure. Although it probably has something to do with the fact that the playerbase reaches its peak on Saturdays. Given that we most likely only have one Saturday left to work with (May 4), and we’re fairly certain that it’s only a matter of time before we see the eruption for our selves. One of the more prominent dataminers in the scene, Lucas7yoshi, came to the same conclusion. According to him, or rather, the files that he found in the game, the volcano is set to erupt sometime around 3:00 pm ET this Saturday. Sure, the files aren’t always correct, but they’re also very rarely wrong either. Once the volcano does erupt, expect big changes to happen to Fortnite’s map. In particular, we might see the Tilted Towers and Retail Row decimated completely if not removed from the game, or at the very least, altered to look completely different and befitting of what the surrounding areas of a recently-erupted volcano should look like. Of course, it’s always nice to hear from Epic Games themselves. To that end, we have yet to receive any official word. With that said, make sure to keep an eye out for the official announcement.
