Epic Games may not have confirmed the event themselves yet, but we do know that a John Wick based event is coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale sooner rather than later.
According to the many leaked files found by different dataminers, the collaboration between John Wick and Fortnite has been hinted since the start of the season. Hints include changes to the map, as well as various leaked files.
Here’s everything that we know so far about the John Wick event that’s coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale.
John Wick Related Map Changes
As has usually been the case at the start of a season, the map was changed for Season 9. But, one of the things that a lot of players noticed is how an in-game replica of what seems to be the house of John Wick himself located somewhere in Paradise Palms.
Another reference to John Wick is the addition of the Continental Hotel at Neo Tilted.
The said structure has the very same sign put up as that of the hotel featured in the action movie. However, the main difference is that, instead of NYC, the structure says Neo Tilted at the bottom. Other than that, the structure is an exact copy of that in John Wick.
John Wick Weapons Added to the Game
Further fueling the speculation that we’re about to see a John Wick crossover event of sorts was the addition of the Combat Shotgun. Multiple leak sources are also suggesting that we’re going to see a Tactical Assault Rifle added to Fortnite: Battle Royale soon.
Both weapons are favoured by the titular protagonist of John Wick. More importantly, they are heavily featured in all three of the John Wick movies.
What Kind of Challenges Should We Expect?
Determined data-miners also found a couple of files in the latest Fortnite: Battle Royale update that showed what kind of challenges we should expect in the new Limited Time Mode associated with the upcoming John Wick event.
These are the said challenges.
- Win a match of Wick’s Bounty
- Play matches of Wick’s Bounty
- Collect Gold Coins
- Collect Gold Coins in a Single Map
- Deal Damage with the Combat Shotgun
- Deal Damage with the Assault Rifle
The rumored John Wick collaboration comes just after the collaboration between Fortnite: Battle Royale and Avengers: Endgame.
Considering that Fortnite: Battle Royale received a skin inspired or, rather, based on John Wick earlier in Season 3, it really wouldn’t come off as a surprise if a John Wick event truly was added to the game around the same time that the third installment of the John Wick film franchise premieres.
